          Sylvain Charlebois is a Canadian professor and researcher of food distribution and policy at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

          He is a former dean of the university's Faculty of Management.[2]

          Charlebois, who goes by the moniker "The Food Professor," is the director of the Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University. Since December , he has been the lead author of Canada's Food Price Report.

          Early life and education

          Charlebois was raised on a rural farm in Quebec. He has a degree in commerce from the Royal Military College of Canada, and an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal.[1] He stayed in the province and obtained a Doctor of Business Administration, focusing on food distribution at the University of Sherbrooke.[3][1] In the s, his research focused on food systems.[3]
